THE NAMESAKE
For the first 20 years of my life I don’t think I had any other shoes except riding boots — my mum still has about a dozen pairs in different sizes that all her kids wore at some stage — so it’s hard for me to choose anything but a classic riding boot. But I think these latest ones from R.M.Williams, the Victoria boots ($1199), may have changed my mind. And they do have my name on them! — Victoria Carey, editorial director
THE WEEKENDER
Being part of the team, I wasn’t eligible to enter last year’s Graziher/GlamSwag competition but as soon as I saw the dreamy photos, I knew I needed one in my life. I chose the Outback model ($299) with the waterproof, waxed-canvas bottom. It was an indulgent purchase, but it gets plenty of use. Just last weekend, my husband cooked dinner on the firepit and the rest of us lolled about on my down-filled swag. My kind of fine-dining. — Emma Mulholland, digital producer
THE WORKHORSE
I’m currently contract mustering on a cattle station on the Barkly Tablelands and the flies are quite bad out here at the moment. I met Lyle and Helen Kent from Kent Saddlery (who have featured in Graziher) during their Northern Territory cattle stations trip, so I purchased the Kent Saddlery Fly Veil for my horses, and I have been using it every day. — Amie Shann, digital producer
THE KNEE-HIGHS
A go-to item that I tend to wear year-round — and wore every day while travelling recently, due to the unexpected cooler weather — is my Lamington Merino Wool Knee High Socks. My Pom-Pom and Jester socks ($32.95 for a pair) were on high rotation. I can confirm that they do stay up and are great under jeans and skirts. — Sally Jackson, communications and client relations officer
THE EARRINGS
While I’ve been travelling, I have really worked out what I love and use all the time. My go-tos, when I want to switch over from studs, are the freshwater-pearl Lizzie earrings ($49) from Greenwood Designs. I’ve had them for a few years and I always get compliments when I wear them. — Sally
THE HEIRLOOM
When my grandson Joe was christened last year he wore the most adorable little smocked shirt and bloomers made by Lucy Davies of Sutherby Lane (prices start at $55). This farmer’s wife and mother has made it her mission to celebrate classic heirloom clothing. If you’ve got a special occasion coming up, take a look at her website. — Melody Lord, subeditor
THE KEEPSAKE
I wrote a story about Kirsty Morrison from Noss & Co in a recent issue and I loved chatting to her. We talked about kids, her life growing up on the family farm and so much more — I could have written a lot more about this inspiring woman who started her own homewares business from scratch. I bought one of her lovely jugs ($110) and it’s now one of my favourite things. — Victoria
THE SKIN SALVE
The frosty mornings are setting in and so too is my winter crocodile skin. I like to keep a tin of Carbine Ridge Avocado Balm ($29.95) on my bedside table and lather my hands morning and night — it makes them feel deeply moisturised and smooth. The brand also does a beautiful botanical-blend face oil ($56.95). I just love that applying organic, unrefined ingredients can have such a nourishing effect. — Cass Thies
THE GLOVES
My Bush Mits are one of a few staples I have with me at the moment, and I couldn’t live without them. I am in the sun for the majority of the day, and these are perfect for mustering, working in the yards and everything in between. They have UPF 50+ sun protection but they’re still lightweight and cool to wear. I have four pairs on rotation — I’m currently wearing the Hamilton’s Blue Gingham ($39.95) style. They go perfectly with my Antola Trading work shirt, which you can get for free with all Graziher subscriptions for a limited time! — Amie
THE DAILY READ
On my bedside table is this wonderful book of poems by British poet Lemn Sissay, Let the Light Pour In (A&U Canongate; $22.99). He challenged himself to write a four-line poem every day for 10 years, and this book is the result. The poems are so full of joy and insights into the world, and I’m reading one each morning when I wake up. I love this one (below).
Mist lies on quiet crops
And sleeps on the hill
Sunlight rests on clifftops
And everything is still
