This talented Tasmanian ceramist started her own homewares business from a farm shed. Today she sits down with Graziher to talk about daily rituals, motherhood and making courageous decisions.

How do you start each morning?

I start the day with a shower, get dressed, enjoy a green drink (vital greens is a must for me!) and a coffee, and then get the boys ready for school. It’s busy, but so rewarding. Also with young children, sleep can be unpredictable, so wake up time varies.

What’s the secret of your success?

Staying true to my passion for creativity and quality. Noss & Co was inspired by my childhood love for ceramics, and I’ve carried that joy into every piece we create. Plus, I believe in surrounding myself with a supportive team and always listening to our customers.

Did you ever feel like giving up?

Absolutely! Running a business is full of challenges, especially when balancing it with family life. But every time I feel overwhelmed, I remind myself of why I started, my love for creating and the joy our products bring to people’s homes.

What gives you the most satisfaction from your work?

Seeing our creations become part of someone’s home and life. Whether it’s a hand-painted ceramic on a kitchen table or a piece gifted to a loved one, knowing our work brings happiness is incredibly fulfilling.

What is the most courageous decision you have made?

Taking the leap to start Noss & Co. It was a mix of excitement and fear, but trusting in my vision and diving into the unknown has been the most rewarding journey.

The most important piece of advice you would like to give your younger self?

Trust the process and don’t be afraid to take risks. Perfection isn’t the goal, progress is. Also, make time for self-care and cherish the little moments!

Favourite way to spend 5 minutes of your day?

Spending time with my family always fills my cup. Whether it’s sharing a laugh or just being present with them, those moments remind me of what truly matters and keep me grounded.
